Rachel Walton
Rachel Walton is an Associate Professor, Librarian and Head of Library Digital Strategies & Scholarly Communication.
As a librarian and archivist at Olin Library, Rachel works with students from a variety of disciplines to support their overall research and learning.
She is a graduate of the University of Florida where she received both her bachelor’s in History and Art History and a master’s in Latin American History. In 2015 she received her second masters in Library Science at UNC Chapel Hill, with a specialization in digital curation.
Rachel is a Digital Archivist. It is her job to acquire, preserve, and provide access to digital resources of long-term significance. This includes, but is not limited to, digitized materials related to the history of the College, the published and unpublished work of its faculty and students, and any administrative records that merit long term retention.
Rachel is a Certified Archivist and her professional research interests include website usability, research data management, and digital humanities. When she’s not working, Rachel likes sipping cappuccinos, planning vacations with her family, and getting out in the Florida sunshine.
