Reciprocal Borrowers

Current University of Central Florida faculty, staff and students, as well as Winter Park Library patrons can borrow materials at Olin Library through our reciprocal borrowing agreements.

Current Rollins faculty, staff and students can, in turn, also borrow from both the UCF library and WPL.

UCF and Rollins Borrowing

In an effort to expand the library resources available to our respective patrons, the University of Central Florida Library and the Olin Library have entered into a reciprocal agreement to allow responsible patrons to borrow materials at both libraries.

Eligibility

All faculty, staff, and currently enrolled students in good standing with the home library (i.e. no unpaid fees, lost or damaged books, or record of excessive late returns) are eligible for borrowing privileges at the guest library.  Persons who are community or courtesy borrowers at the home library are not eligible under this agreement.

Application Procedure

Please visit the Circulation and Information Desk so your enrollment and good standing can be verified with UCF. Borrowing privileges must be verified once per semester.

Length of Courtesy Privileges

Borrowing privileges at both libraries automatically cease whenever a student leaves school or a faculty or staff member terminates employment. Otherwise, the courtesy borrowing privileges will normally be granted until May 15th of the current academic year. After that date, a new application will have to be submitted.

Responsibilities

The rules, regulations, loan periods, fees, etc. of the guest library are in effect for all materials borrowed from that library. Materials borrowed from the guest library must be returned directly there. Any delinquencies in returning materials, or paying for lost or damaged materials will lead to suspension of library privileges at the reciprocal library.

Policies

If granted guest borrowing privileges, the patron understands that:

  • All materials should be returned when due.
  • will not borrow materials for others
  • will pay all fees assessed for delinquent or unreturned materials. If the fees are not paid, the library is authorized to assess them against the patron's account and the status will be set as delinquent for both general circulating material and reserves materials at both Rollins and UCF.
  • The patron accepts responsibility for return or replacement of all materials borrowed and all related processing fees, replacement fees, and/or collection fees.

Privileges do not include any holds, or access to off-campus databases or ILL.

Information from the University of Central Florida Library's website is available here.
