Equipment Loan Information

Equipment Guidelines

  • Equipment is available on a first come, first serve basis -- either in person at the Olin Library Circulation Desk or upon request within our Olin lockers for contactless pickup.

  • Only current Students, Faculty, and Staff with a valid R-Card may borrow equipment from Olin.

  • Patrons may borrow only one of each item at a time.

  • Equipment is intended to be solely used by the borrower.

  • Patrons must complete an Equipment User Agreement Form once per academic school year (August - June).

  • Failure to return equipment in a timely manner will result in a temporary suspension of borrowing privileges.  

  • Make sure all data is backed up before returning equipment.

Loan Times

  • Equipment is loaned for 3 days with no renewals, except for the following:

    • iPads & Accessories check out for 7 days with one renewal

  • Upon return, an item of the same type may not be checked out for at least one hour.

  • Items must be returned either at the Circulation Desk or in our book drops before the end of the business day on or before the day the item is due.

Fines and Replacement Costs

  • Cameras and laptops accrue fines of $10.00 per day that they are overdue.

  • Chargers and Adapters accrue fines of $5.00 per day that they are overdue.

  • Once an item is 5 days overdue, replacement costs for the item are billed to the patron's account.

  • All fines and bills are paid online via FoxPay or in person at the Student Accounts Office. 

  • Misuse of library equipment may result in a suspension of equipment borrowing privileges.

  • All items are inspected for damages, malfunctions, and missing pieces upon return. 

  • If an item is checked out with any pre-existing issues, return it and inform a Circulation Desk staff member immediately.
