What to Expect from Your Session

In-Person Appointments

Your tutor's name will be in your appointment confirmation email.

At the time of your appointment, you can find your tutor in the Tutoring & Writing Center on the 2nd (main) floor of Olin Library. When you enter through the main entrance to the building, turn left past the circulation desk and walk all the way to the end of the hallway. Turn right into the Lakeview Lounge area to find your tutor (they will have their name on a whiteboard).

Virtual Appointments

At the time of your appointment, please select "Join your appointment" from your confirmation email. You will be directed to a Teams room where your tutor will meet you.

Before your session begins, please have any links or files ready that you'd like to share with your tutor.

After your appointment, you can

  • access your session report through EAB Navigate if you are an undergraduate student
  • email tutoring&writing@rollins.edu if you are a graduate student

Your TWC Session

Please keep in mind that our tutors are not permitted to edit or correct your work for you.

At the start of your appointment, you and the tutor will work together to set an agenda for the session. It is helpful if you have a goal or set of questions that you'd like to discuss with, but even if you don't know where to begin, your tutor can still help!

During your session, the tutor will ask questions, offer options and suggestions, and connect you to other helpful resources. In the last 5 minutes or so, your tutor will discuss some concrete next steps that you can take to work toward your goals.

After your session, you can log in to EAB Navigate and click on the "reports" tab to see notes about your session. You'll also receive an email asking you to complete a brief survey about your tutoring experience––this is a great way to let us know what's working for you or what you'd like to see more of from us!

Need to cancel your session?

Appointments need to be cancelled at least 18 hours in advance.
