How to research a company for CORPORATE SUSTAINABILITY

Once you have identified a company you wish to analyze for how well they comply with the principles of the UN Global Compact, use a database called BUSINESS SOURCE COMPLETE (screenshot shown below) to search for articles on the company. For example, I have selected the pharmaceutical company Merck.

On the first line, use the drop-down arrows to target you search, plus some alternate terms that get at the issue of corporate responsibility.

On the 2nd line, use synonyms for CSR. This will generate a list of articles discussing how well Merck complies with socially responsible behavior. Other synonyms you might use include UN Global Compact, social justice, etc.

How to Cite Business Databases

Jim Vileta's webpage from the University of Minnesota has excellent examples for citing a variety of business databases using the APA format.

How to Use Business Databases

This short video will show you how to get a nice, targeted search in a database (rather than trying to drink from a firehouse using Google!)
