Interlibrary Loan

Everything you need to know about interlibrary loan, what it is, how it works, and where you can go for help!

Updates

Effective July 10, 2023 a new pickup procedure will be in place.

In order to pickup your ILL items you must show ID and sign a check out slip in order for your items to be released to you.

If someone else besides the requestor is picking up the ILL items you must email circ@rollins.edu and olinill@rollins.edu prior to pickup and provide the name of the pickup person. The designated pickup person must also show ID and sign a check out slip.

Failure to follow these steps will result in your ILL items not being released to you.

What is Interlibrary Loan?

Interlibrary loan is just a fancy way of saying we can get books from other libraries. No library can own every book ever, and ILL is here to get you what you need for continued education. Interlibrary loan isn't just limited to books, we can get articles and  even some movies and CDs. The best news is that it's free to use!

How long will it take?

Physical items, like books, typically take 2-3 weeks, as they can be sent from libraries all over the world.

Articles usually take 1-3 business days to be emailed to you.

Items will arrive faster if you fill out the request form with all known information about the desired item, it allows us to find it and request it quickly.
