What is an article?

For ILL "article" is a very loose term for whatever portion of the material you would like. We can get articles from journals as well as chapters from books, scans of art, the table of contents, a picture of a map, you name it!

Each article or chapter requires a separate request form. If you need multiple chapters from a book, we recommend you request the actual book instead.

How to Request Articles through Tipasa

How do I receive articles?

Articles are electronically fulfilled. They will either be sent directly to your email or you will receive a temporary login for Article Exchange via email, which will then allow you to download the article. To ensure speedy delivery, be sure to use your Rollins email address when setting up your account preferences. Once received it you only have 30 days to access and download your article. So don't forget to save it so you can read at your leisure.

If it's been a while since you've made your request, check your spam folder.

How long will it take?

It ultimately depends on the request and how difficult it is to obtain a copy. Physical items, like books, typically take 1-3 weeks, as they can be sent from libraries all over the world. Electronically fulfilled items, like articles, usually take 1-3 business days to be emailed to you.

Items will arrive faster if you fill out the request form with all known information about the desired item, it allows us to find it and request it quickly. But please note that each library we request from has their own response time. Always plan ahead and ask for items early!
