Thesis and bibliography:
As the first step towards your final paper you will turn in one paragraph introducing your thesis statement on a story not previously used in class with an annotated bibliography. In the annotated bibliography you will review three academic articles or book chapters relevant to the topic you selected– Wikipedia articles cannot be used for this purpose. At least one of these sources will need to be written in Spanish. Each entry should include the following components: a complete citation following the MLA style, a summary of the author’s main concepts and conclusions, and a personal evaluation indicating the relevance of the article/chapter for your paper and your comments on the material. This assignment is intended to help you work in your research paper in a timely manner, to give you direct feedback on your progress developing a thesis, to provide you with additional practice on summarizing academic writings in Spanish, and compiling research projects.
Final Paper:
You will have to write a final paper analyzing a text not previously used in class. The paper needs to be written using a computer, with Time New Roman or an equivalent font, plus a sized 12 letter and a double spaced paragraph. Hand-written papers will not be graded. This final paper should be between 3 to 5 pages long.
You will also have to provide a list of the works that you used in your final paper. The bibliography has to be written using the MLA format. Please, check the last edition of the MLA Handbook to be acquainted with the format.
