About Web of Science Research Assistant

The Web of Science Research Assistant is a generative AI model that converts users' questions into a search and generates answers or summaries using the top 8 most relevant results, citing the articles used. The tool is guided by academic principles and only returns search results that are included in the library's subscription. The summary references the five documents on which the answer is based, and users can click to see these results in more detail alongside key metadata.

Web of Science Research Assistant takes the idea of an enhanced, simplified discovery experience even further with:

  • Multilingual searching creates a more efficient environment for users, where they can find content and explore its relevance in their own language.
  • Commentaries of search results spanning over 120 years of research help users swiftly explore foundational and emerging topics.
  • Contextual, timely prompts reveal additional ways to view and understand the data or refine the scope of a research question.
  • Unique data visualizations bring the myriad connections between people, papers, and concepts into focus
