In her presentation, Dr. Díaz-Zambrana discusses the nuances of women on the Camino pilgrimage, including the idea that the "default" pligrim is male in literary works and primary sources about the pilgrimage. In fact, despite the gendered institutions that perpetuated this image, women have been completing the pilgrimage for centuries using a variety of methods.
