Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
The General Assembly, meeting at the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit held in 2015, adopted resolution 70/1, "Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development".
The Sustainable Development Goals are designed to stimulate action around 17 goals, listed below. These goals are of critical importance for humanity and the planet.

- The United Nations YouTube Channel: Global GoalsThe YouTube Channel includes short videos highlighting the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
- The UN's 2030 Agenda for Sustainable DevelopmentThis agenda seeks to strengthen universal peace through a plan of action for people, planet and prosperity. Included are the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals and 169 targets with their comprehensive plan for the future of our world.

How Libraries Contribute
Access to information is essential for the welfare of society. Open access to information increases innovation, illuminates inequities, and increases public trust in science and is essential for achievement of the SDGs.
