Interlibrary Loan

Everything you need to know about interlibrary loan, what it is, how it works, and where you can go for help!

What is an article?

For ILL "article" is a very loose tern for whatever portion of the material you would like. We can get articles from journals as well as chapters from books, scans of art, the table of contents, a picture of a map, you name it!

Each article or chapter requires a separate request form.  If you need multiple chapters from a book, we recommend you request the actual book instead.

How do I receive articles?

Articles are sent directly to your email so make sure to use an email you check frequently when setting up your account preferences.

If it's been awhile since you've made your request, check your spam folder.

Once received you only have 30 days to access and download your article, so don't forget to save it so you can read it whenever you would like!

How long will it take?

Physical items, like books, typically take 2-3 weeks, as they can be sent from libraries all over the world.

Articles usually take 1-3 business days to be emailed to you.

Items will arrive faster if you fill out the request form with all known information about the desired item, it allows us to find it and request it quickly.

ILL it now!
